Silvia has over a decade of experience in the sports betting industry, with a particular emphasis on the regulatory framework and integrity issues. Her career spans both the private and not-for-profit sides of the industry, giving her a well-rounded understanding of the challenges and opportunities of the sector.
Silvia joined the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) in 2018, following four years of collaboration with the association as an external consultant. Prior to that, she worked for a sports betting operator, further deepening her knowledge of compliance and market dynamics from an industry perspective. Her professional journey reflects more than 10 years working on sports betting integrity and focussing on the regulatory landscape.
In her current role at IBIA, Silvia leads the association’s work across the Latin American region, supporting engagement with regulators, policymakers, and industry stakeholders. She is also involved in the design and implementation of several key IBIA initiatives, including education campaigns, policy development, and research studies aimed at strengthening the global fight against betting-related match-fixing.
