20 Years of Integrity and the Road Ahead
From our origins as the European Sports Security Association (ESSA) to today’s global IBIA, our mission has remained constant: to protect fair play and ensure confidence in every game and every bet.
Over two decades we’ve:
- Evolved from a European initiative of 6 operators into the global voice for betting integrity, representing 90+ members worldwide
- Built strong relationships with major sports bodies, including FIFA, UEFA, the International Olympic Committee – IOC, and The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA)
- Collaborated with law enforcement agencies, regulatory authorities, and policymakers across six continents to strengthen sports betting integrity and safeguard global sporting competitions
- Supported investigations leading to the successful prosecution of match-fixing cases globally
- Educated almost 40,000 athletes through integrity training
As we look ahead to 2030, our commitment is stronger than ever: to innovate, collaborate, and uphold the standards that make regulated sports betting safer for all.
