In the first quarter of 2026, IBIA reported 70 suspicious betting alerts across 10 sports, with football (25), tennis (16) and eSports (15) accounting for the largest share. Regionally, Europe generated the highest proportion of alerts (28%), followed by North America (20%) and Asia (13%).
The report also highlights Brazil’s growing importance. Between 2021 and 2025, 68 suspicious betting alerts were reported in Brazil, while the recently regulated online sports betting market is forecast to expand significantly, reaching BRL 28.8bn by 2030, with onshore licensed operators expected to account for more than 80% of GGR.
The takeaway is simple: as markets expand, so too must cooperation between operators, regulators and sports bodies. Data-led monitoring and cross-sector collaboration are not optional, they are essential to safeguarding sport and maintaining consumer trust.
IBIA and its members remain committed to that collective effort.
